The 2007-2008 Adventure Guide/Princess Program is off --
The first event of the year is the Annual Rocket Launch. Even though Petunia has been involved in Adventure Princess' since she was in kindergarten, this is the first time we have actually participated in this project.
Dad spent some time on a Sunday evening helping Petunia and Rowdy build their rockets. He was a little perplexed by the process ...
Rowdy LOVED his rocket building session. He put so many stickers on his I'm surprised it wasn't too heavy to fly into the air ...
The morning of the launch was a typical September morning ... HOT!
We had to walk through a field (over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go ...) until we finally reached the "launch pad".
Of course, once at the launch site, we all had to wait in line for what seemed like f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Did I mention it was hot???
Finally, it was our turn ...
Dad did such a good job helping Rowdy and Petunia get their rocket set up for lift off ...

Finally, once they were set up just so, they were launched. As you can see from this picture, Dad was ecstatic!
We have some new friends ... They just moved to the United States from London. Mr. D is the new Minister of Missional Life at our church and we have quickly bonded with them and feel like they are an extension of our family. They have 3 children - Oldest is 10 and in the 5th grade, Middle is 7 and in 2nd grade, and Rowdy II is 5 and in kindergarten. Petunia, Oldest and Middle have developed a sweet friendship, but it is Rowdy and Rowdy II are two peas in a pod ...
