It's Fall Y'all ...

This past Monday was Columbus Day and the kids were out of school. I opted to take the day off from work and spend it with the kids. We decided that it would be so much fun to show "Our Friends From Across the Pond" what a true pumpkin patch experience should be all about. Petunia, Rowdy and I also invited JM1 and JM2 to join us ...

Middle was enthralled with the donkeys (and that was before we even entered!)

Petunia and JM2 immediately fed the longhorns the big chunks of feed ...
Rowdy 1 and Rowdy II decided to feed to goats. You would have thought these poor guys (the goats - not the boys) had never been fed!

After a time of animal feeding, we loaded up and took a spin on a real live hay ride ...

It was so much fun to see how our new friends from "across the pond" enjoyed the hayride!

Mrs. D and Middle ...

Of course, Rowdy 1 and Rowdy II had to have their fun...

Have I mentioned how CRAZY these two are when they are together? Made from the same seed, these two ...

Even though the calendar said it was October, it felt much more like August ... The pumpkin picking didn't last too long. We were all very ready to move on to something that was in the shade ...

Then it was off for a few photo ops ...

I have been trying to figure out how to get a comparison picture of Petunia and the scarecrow. I have a picture of her in front of this same scarecrow when she was a little over 2. Unfortunately, that was pre-digital camera and the picture is in a scrapbook now. So, imagine Petunia with Shirley Temple curls standing here ...
