Happy Birthday Rowdy

Last year I was lucky in the party department for Rowdy's birthday. We opted for a family ski vacation instead (score one for mom!!). This year Rowdy really, really wanted a party. I put it off and put it off until it was the week OF his birthday and then scrambled to pull something together.

Dad recently started a new job which has allowed us to take advantage of many fabulous perks. The latest perk ...

Yes, that is a limo. Not just ANY limo ... a BRIGHT, lime green, Joe Gibbs Performance Racing Special Edition limo. Oh, Rowdy was out of his mind!!!

Dad made arrangements to get the limo and I made arrangements to get some friends together. Rowdy knew we were having a few friends over for pizza and then all going bowling, but the limo was a complete surprise! Dad actually got to drive this monster home ... and keep it for the WHOLE weekend! Dad called me from the car and we got Rowdy to come outside ...

Here he is as he came out the front door and saw the big surprise ... He was over the moon excited!

Dad managed to time it so that he made it home from work before Rowdy's friends came over. They were so excited to see the limo when they pulled up.
Rowdy, very early on in the planning, told Petunia that she could invite a friend to tag along for the evening. Well, there isn't anyone else Petunia would rather have along than her pal, Superstar. Now, Superstar's mother, let's call her ... Flamingo PJ Girl, knew all about the limo plan but never let on. Those two girls were almost as out of their minds excited as Rowdy ... Superstar had to call Flamingo PJ Girl as soon as she found about about the limo ... To hear her on the phone you would have thought that the Jonas Brothers were outside!!

Rowdy couldn't figure out why his birthday cake had a racetrack on it. It all started to make a little more sense ...

After pizza and cake, we all loaded up in the limo and took a ride to the bowling alley. Note to self: Never, NEVER, put 6 boys, hyped up on limos and sugar, in a small area for more than 20 seconds. It was soooo loud in the back of the limo!!
Each child was greeted with a bag of goodies from Interstate Battery - stickers, ballcap, keychain, lanyard, NASCAR schedule. Rowdy's ballcap was even autographed by Kyle Busch!! (Have I mentioned how much I MAJORLY heart this new job????)

Bowling was a hit but nothing compared to just riding back and forth in the limo!

Now, what will I come up with next year???
